Spetses is the main town of the island of the same name. There is a tourist and fishing port, as well as nice sandy and rocky beaches. The surroundings of the town are immersed in the greenery of small groves as well as almond and citrus groves.
The town is basically the only larger center on the island. The remaining villages have a dozen or so - up to several dozen inhabitants. From the local port, you can take a ferry to Piraeus and Nafplio. There is a car traffic restriction on the island and the main means of transport are horses, water taxis and bicycles.
Along the shores of Spetses, surrounded by small towns, but also in the further corners of the island, there are numerous beaches. Some of them, such as those near the port, are very well developed. There are not only bars and restaurants, but also a water sports center and water equipment rentals. A popular place for relaxation is the Vrelos Beach with beach volleyball courts and regular events by the sea.
The town of Spetses has pretty buildings, with tiled houses and numerous villas in gardens that are owned by wealthy Athenians.
