Venetian Rimondi Fountain

Local name: Ενετική Κρήνη Rimondi

The only fountain from the Venetian period that survived Rethymno. It was built in 1626 and received the name for part of the then city commandant. It consists of three bowls, into which water flows from the heads of lions. It is decorated with classical columns. In the past, the fountain was an important part of the city's water supply system.
