Asclepeion on Kos

The largest archaeological site in Kos. These are the ruins of the sanctuary of the god Asklepios (Aesculapius), at which a medical school and a hospital operated. Hippocrates, called the father of medicine, worked here. The foundations of the buildings belonging to the sanctuary, the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, as well as the terraces and temple garden have been preserved.
