A promenade in the center of Athens connecting the Omonia Square with Monastiraki. It was marked out in the 19th century and it was the first paved street in Athens. At Aiolou there is a city market and many neoclassical buildings erected in the 19th century. Here, there are mainly shops of various industries as well as restaurants and cafes.
