Castle Church
Local name: Schlosskirche
Located inside:
Castle Lutherstadt Wittenberg
The Gothic castle church was built in the years 1490-1511 on the orders of Frederick III the Wise, an advocate of the German Reformation. In 1517, Martin Luther nailed his famous manifesto known as "95 theses" on the door of the temple. The current furnishing of the church is the result of a nineteenth-century reconstruction in the neo-Gothic style.
