Rheinstein Castle
Local name: Romantik-Schloß Burg Rheinstein
A romantic castle standing on a steep cliff above the Rhine Valley. In the fourteenth century, a defensive stronghold stood here, which eventually fell into ruin. In the nineteenth century, it was bought by the Prussian priest Frederick and subjected to a thorough, neo-Gothic reconstruction. Visitors can see the courtyard, which offers a view of the Rhine, the castle chapel and several furnished representative rooms.
