Dreamland on the Bear Cave
Local name: Traumland auf der Bärenhöhle
The Bear Cave is an archaeological find from the second half of the 19th century. It is a place once inhabited by cavemen. The exhibition presented in the cave includes bones of rhinos, cave lions and bears.
The cave is 271 meters long and connects to the Karls Cave discovered in 1834.
This place was found thanks to a teacher named Mr. Fauth who was collecting herbs in the area. At one point he noticed that while moving the bushes, there was no sound of falling crumbling rock debris. When he decided to take a closer look at them, the can of tobacco in his hands slid out and fell into the pit. The next day Fauth returned to this place with friends and they entered the cave together. They found human remains and bones of many animals. Over the years, people have stolen many of these relics of the past, but some have been preserved.
