Sankt Englmar is a spa town and winter sports center in the Bavarian Forest. It offers excellent conditions for skiing tourism, and in summer for mountain hiking and outdoor recreation.
The mountains surrounding the village do not exceed 1200 m above sea level. Their slopes are covered with forests, and the surrounding area encourages hiking. There are over 120 km of hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels, from walking routes to those requiring a sound condition.
The Sankt Englmar ski resort operating in the winter has several kilometers of easy and medium difficult slopes. There are also trails for cross-country skiing around.
The village offers visitors many opportunities for recreation and rest. Mineral water flowing out in the area is used in spa facilities and recreational pools. The summer toboggan run is very popular, and the region's most important attraction is the Walk among the treetops path - a scenic route located on platforms and wooden walkways at the height of the treetops.
In Sankt Englmar there is also a spa park with a lake where you can swim. Canoes and pedal boats can be rented here. An interactive learning center for children to discover the secrets of the world awaits children. In turn, in the nearby Glashütt you can visit the historic glassworks.
