The double-track railway bridge was built in 1916. It is 325 m long. During World War II it was the only undamaged bridge on the Rhine captured by the Allies, which enabled them to cross the river. It collapsed 10 days after its capture, and these events were presented in the movie "Bridge on the Rhine" from 1969.
