The largest natural history museum in Rhineland-Palatinate has in its collections, among others numerous Permian fossils and a large collection from the Ice Age, including hippopotamus, steppe mammoth and saber-toothed tiger skeletons. An interesting fact is three kwagga zebras - representatives of the extinct species around 1900.
