Walchen lake
Local name: Walchensee
The beautiful lake is located in the town of Jachenau in upper Bavaria - one of the most forested areas in Germany. It is one of the deepest and largest Alpine lakes in this country. It lies at an altitude of 800 m above sea level. Since 1924, it has served as a water reservoir for the Lake Zell power plant.
