Externsteine rock formation

The sandstone rocks in the form of towers have been a place of worship since prehistoric times, which in the 12th century was converted by the Benedictines into a chapel (the "Removal from the Cross" relief has survived from this period). You can now visit the stone monument thanks to the stairs and footbridges installed.
