Heringsdorf Pier
Local name: Seebrücke Heringsdorf
The 508-meter wooden structure from 1891-1893 was the longest pier in Europe at the time of opening. Destroyed in a fire in 1958, it was replaced by the existing promenade only in 1995. The pavilion at the entrance to the pier houses a shell museum, cinema, restaurant and fitness club.
