The gardens at the Linderhof Palace, erected in the years 1874-1878 at the behest of Louis II Wittelsbach (known as Crazy), are famous for their artificial geyser, which throws water at intervals of 30 min. The neo-baroque building and terraced gardens were inspired by the palace foundation of Petit Trianon in Versailles.
