Castle Braunfels

A medieval defensive castle standing on a basalt rock ridge. It has been the seat of the counts of Solms since the 13th century. The current shape of the castle is the result of a nineteenth century reconstruction in the style of historicism. A courtyard, gardens and some representative rooms with antique furniture and handicraft products have been made available to visitors.
