Castle square

The main square of the old town, where the most important monument of Berchtesgaden is located - the 12th-century Royal Palace. Originally it was an Augustinian monastery, which after the secularization of the order was taken over by the Bavarian royal family. Currently, the castle is a museum in which, in addition to antique furniture, you can see collections of porcelain, painting and sculpture.
