The Paris Police Prefectural Museum is located in the police headquarters of the fifth district. It is divided into two exhibitions. The first of them deals with the history of the Paris police since its inception in the 17th century, while the second is a criminological exhibition. You can see the tools of crime and equipment that law enforcement has used over the years.
The Paris police were appointed by Louis XIV. Her uniforms, weapons, documents, photos and police equipment from various periods of time were collected at the Museum. The second exhibition is devoted to crime and combating it. You can see here various weapons of crime, from firearms, knives or cords to poisons and more sophisticated means of inflicting death. The exhibition also shows how over the centuries efforts have been made to fight crime and what methods the police could have used in the fight against villains.
