French Comedy is the French National Theater based in the Théâtre des Variétés-Amusantes in the Royal Palace building. This is a very conservative stage exhibiting classic performances by French and world artists.
The theater was created in 1680, but refers to the tradition of Molière's theater. During its history, it has changed its seat several times, but since 1799 it has been continuously present in the Royal Palace.
The French Comedy is a place of staging classical theater performances. It refers to the traditional principles of French theater focused on "showing" rather than "experiencing" staged plays. The repertoire played in the national theater is very conservative, in contrast to the democratic way of managing it, which includes members of the acting team. An honorary member of the French Comedy is Andrzej Seweryn, who plays and directs in Paris.
