The monument is located in the center of Victoria Square. It belongs to the historical monuments of the country. It comes from 1822 and presents the king of France, Louis XIV. The base of the monument is a pedestal additionally decorated with reliefs depicting events from the history of the country - "Crossing the Rhine" and "Establishment of the Saint-Louis Order".
The first statue representing the king on foot was carved in 1686. However, it was destroyed in 1792.
During the French Revolution, it was replaced by a wooden pyramid with the names of the dead, during the massacre of August 10, 1792, by citizens.
According to legend, Napoleon gave wood from the pyramid to the guard so that he would use it as a kindling to the stove.
The current statue was carved in 1822 modeled on the "Bronze Horseman" in St. Petersburg.
