Palace de Tokyo is a modernist building in the center of Paris, near the Trocadero Square. It houses the municipal museum of modern art. The building from 1937 is adjacent to the Pavilion built at the beginning of the 21st century, in which there are exhibition spaces for artists creating multimedia projects or larger works using various forms of artistic expression.
The museum was opened in 1937 during the International Exhibition of Technology and Art. Earlier, in the place of its eastern wing was the building of the Polish Embassy in France. The modernist building has a winged courtyard. A powerful colonnade referring to classical forms leads into the interior. The bright and spacious interiors include permanent and temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists. Graphics, painting, sculpture and visual arts are presented here.
