Georges Brassens Park

Local name: Parc Georges-Brassens

Georges Brassens Park is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. It is a green area, the central part of which is an irregularly shaped pond. There is a puppet theater in the park, the Monfort Theater presenting shows from the border between theater and circus. Pony rides are also offered, and extensive park lawns serve as a popular picnic spot.

The park was marked out in 1984 at the former meat and animal market. Bearing in mind the protests that accompanied the demolition of Les Halles, in the case of the local market it was decided to preserve some of its architecture. Among the trees you can see the clock tower and a fragment of the metal horse pavilion. The entrance is the former market gate.

The park is a place of family recreation. Around the pond there is a lawn with picnic areas. There are also alleys used by runners and Nordic walking enthusiasts. You can also watch swans, and children willingly come to the local theater. On the outskirts of the park there is a fair of used books every weekend.
