Dolphin Square is located on the western edge of La Cite Island. It is a small, triangular square sanded and planted with trees. Tenements from various eras rise around. Most of them were built in the classical and eclectic style, but there are also earlier ones, including Renaissance.
The square was marked out on the order of Henry IV. He was named in honor of the newborn son and heir to the throne of Louis XIII, who officially bore the title of dolphin. The square is located in the middle of the Pont Neuf Bridge, which connects the two banks of the Seine and runs through La Cite.
It is planted with carefully trimmed trees. There are benches in their shadow. Around it are tenements. Many of them have façades decorated with stonework. At the entrance to Delifna Square from the side of the bridge, there are two twin Renaissance tenement houses with brick facades built in 1612.
