Puy de Dôme - 1,464 m

An extinct dome-type volcano located in the group of volcanic peaks Chaîne des Puys in the Massif Central. The volcano was formed as a result of Peléan eruption over 10,000 years ago. The mountain was considered a holy place, and on its top are the ruins of the former Gallic-Roman temple.
