From the glazed cog railway cars you can admire the magnificent panorama of the Chaîne des Puys mountain range - 4 km wide and 32 km long, a cluster of 80 extinct volcanoes, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The upper station of the cable car is located on the volcano Puy de Dôme - a former place of worship, with the ruins of the temple of Mercury.
