Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral

Built in the 13th century, the cathedral is famous for its unusual, almost black color - this is the first French religious building built entirely of black volcanic rock. The temple was built on the site of much older predecessors, as evidenced by preserved in the crypt made of white marble, 4th century sarcophagus
