Niederbronn-les-Bains is a spa town in the Vosges region that was known since Roman times. There are sanatoriums and a spa park here, and you can visit the ruins of the Wasenburg Castle above the town.

The healing properties of the local waters were first discovered by the Romans in the 1st century AD. Until the fall of the Empire, there was a resort here, the remnants of which are the ruins of the Temple of Mercury standing on the hill. In the Middle Ages the memory of the springs was blurred, and they were rediscovered only in the 19th century. It was then that the health resort, concentrated around the so-called Celtic Spring, flourished.

Today's Niederbronn-les-Bains is an intimate, pretty health resort with a spa park and buildings restored after the destruction of World War II. A short distance from the town is the strategic Wissembourg Pass, which was fought over hard. One of the cemeteries where the fallen are buried is located in Niederbronn-les-Bains.

Among the attractions of Niederbronn-les-Bains is the Castle Wasenburg on the hill. Only ruins remain and can be visited. While exploring the city and its surroundings, you can go up the hill, which is less than 600 meters long, on which stands the Grand Wintersberg Tower. It offers a panoramic view of the Vosges Mountains, the Black Forest and, in good weather, Strasbourg.
