Gaillard Castle
Local name: Château Gaillard
The castle was erected at the end of the 12th century on the initiative of the King of England - Richard I Lionheart. Situated on a limestone cliff, the fortress was entered in the register of French monuments. The task of the stronghold was to protect English castles in Normandy. In the 17th century, the fortress was demolished and only ruins have survived to this day.
