Chenonceau Castle
Local name: Château de Chenonceau
Chenonceau Castle is located in the famous Loire Valley. It is a Renaissance residence, sometimes also called Dam Castle, due to the fact that its subsequent owners expanded it, including Katarzyna Medycejska. The castle has the shape of the letter "T" and its main body is located on the bridge.
The castle is one of the objects most visited by tourists in the Loire Valley. It is surrounded by a large garden and a landscape park. There are many walking routes here, and the gardens invite you to walk among flowers, bushes and small garden architecture. The castle has its own florist since the 16th century. To this day, bouquets created in it decorate every room in the castle.
The residence in Chenonceau has a harmonious, calm body inspired by the Ponte Vecchio bridge. A symmetrical main wing located on the bridge is adjacent to the transverse part with small towers in the corners and a chapel. Nearby is a free-standing, massive tower. The interiors are equipped with furniture and tapestries from the period from the 16th to the 18th century.
