Castle of Chateau Thierry

Local name: Château de Château Thierry

One of the oldest, ruined medieval fortresses in France is first mentioned in sources in 923. In the 12th century, the stronghold, surrounded by a huge wall, had 11 towers and cavernous dungeons created by the mining of limestone. It was given today's appearance by Napoleon's soldiers in 1814.
