The temple dedicated to the founder of the Carthusian order, was built in 1611 at the Chartreuse cemetery - the largest and oldest necropolis in Bordeaux. Inside, there is a marble main altar with statues of the Virgin Mary and Archangel Gabriel, which are attributed to the famous Italian sculptor, Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini.
