Burgundy gate

The classical structure, modeled on the famous Arch of Titus in Rome, was opened to the public on January 24, 1757. It was one of several gates (Dijeaux Gate, Aquitaine Gate), which in the 18th century replaced the old city fortifications with avenues lined with rows of trees.
