Belfry of the Big Bell

Local name: La Grosse Cloche

Dzown city hanging on one of the city gates in Bordeaux. It was cast in 1775 and is now one of the oldest city bells in France. It hangs in the open belfry above the clock. The interior of the tower and gallery are now open to the public on guided tours. During them you can learn about the past of the gate, which served, among others as a prison or defense post.
