Væggerløse is a small town with a long history on the island of Falsen. There is a Romanesque church here, and sandy, though quite narrow beaches in the vicinity.
The history of the village dates back to the 12th century, and the oldest of the local monuments, the Romanesque church, with 16th-century frescoes, dates back to the following century. Other interesting Væggerløse sites include the Bøtø Nor Gl pump station. and the Stouby Windmill.
The seaside surroundings of Væggerløse allow for a quiet holiday away from the crowds. There are, among others the sandy Marielyst Beach, where you can relax by the water in the summer, and go for walks at other times of the year. The Bøtøskoven area with footpaths is also a nice place for hiking tours.
