The sandy beach is one of the largest in Europe. It stretches for 12 km and its width ranges from 1 to 3 km. The descent to the sea is gentle and shallow - the water is deep enough to swim only about 100 km from the shore. This makes it a very good and safe place for families with small children.
The beach is equipped with toilets, showers and changing cabins. Restaurants and shops are in the immediate vicinity. During the season, the beach is guarded by lifeguards. It is also a good place for horse riding - from May to October you can rent a horse or pony here and go for a ride along the sea.
The beach is popular with surfers and kite lovers. Every September, one of the largest kite festivals in Europe is held here.
