Bangsbo Fort - Bunker Museum
Local name: Bangsbo Fort - Bunkermuseum
The historic fort consists of fortifications built by the German army during the Second World War and expanded by the Danish Navy during the so-called Cold War. The fort consists of 80 concrete structures in total, 70 of which are post-German bunkers, and 10 are buildings from the 1950s.
Currently, less than half of the fort area is still used by the navy. The rest was turned into a museum. Some bunkers are open all year round, others are only opened for special occasions. They can be visited independently or with a guide.
The fort is located at an altitude of 82 m above sea level, offering a picturesque view of Frederikshavn and the Kattegat Strait. In good weather, you can even see Skagen, Sæby and Læsø from here.
