Elizabeth Stachelberg lookout tower

Local name: Rozhledna Eliška Stachelberg

The Elżbieta lookout tower stands within the Stachelberg fortified group. It was built in 2014. It is 25 meters high. From its viewing platforms, you can admire the panorama of the Eagle Mountains, Szczeliniec and the foothills of the Karkonosze.

The tower was built thanks to the cooperation of the city of Trutnov and the Association running the Stachelberg Fortress Museum. The tower refers to the history of this area. Its appearance is modeled on military watchtowers. The name comes from Queen Elizabeth, wife of Wenceslaus II, who joined Trutnov to the Czech Republic.

The tower stands at an altitude of 632 m above sea level. It has two viewing platforms located at an altitude of 10 and 21 meters. A metal staircase leads to the top. A board presenting the panorama of the area has been installed on the highest platform, which allows you to orientate yourself better in the landscape.
