Teplice Observatory

The astronomical observatory is located on the hill Písečný na Teplice. It is a scientific and educational institution organizing public astronomical shows. In the evenings you can take part in the observations of stars and planets in the dark sky.

The observatory was founded in 1965. It has two telescopes with a diameter of 5 meters enclosed in opening domes. In addition to research, which includes observing the sun and other celestial objects, it also conducts extensive educational activities directed at children, adolescents and adults. The observatory has a lecture hall in which space classes are held. Visitors can also enter the rooms with telescopes and observe the sky by themselves.
