The Regional Museum in Teplice is based in the castle. The original eighteenth and nineteenth century interiors have been preserved, in which the museum exhibition was placed. It includes collections about the history, culture and nature of Teplice and the surrounding area.
The Regional Museum was founded in 1894. It moved to its present headquarters in the castle after World War II. In the interiors you can admire the collection of furniture and handicrafts. In addition, there are several thematic exhibitions here. In the Romanesque wing of the castle, where the monastery was located in the 13th century, stone sculptures and architectural elements from the monastery were placed. In turn, in the Baroque halls, a collection of paintings from different eras and a collection of porcelain are presented. You can also see an exhibition dedicated to the porcelain traditions in Teplice. Antlers are presented in the hunting room. Another exhibit guides visitors through the history of the Teplice spa and shows how the local thermal waters have been used throughout history. In turn, in the nineteenth-century Room of Prince Ligne, souvenirs of the most famous guests of Teplice, including Goethem and Casanova, are shown.
