Pančava waterfall
Local name: Pančavský vodopád
Panczawski Waterfall is located in the Karkonosze National Park. It has a height of 148 meters, and its cascades have a total height of almost 250 meters. It is the highest waterfall in the Czech Republic. Above its upper part runs the red trail to the Elbe springs.
The waterfall was the destination of tourist trips already in the mid-nineteenth century. A valve was built above its threshold, which allowed it to retain water and drain more of it for a better effect. The waterfall has different sizes depending on the season and weather conditions. It is most effective in spring during thaws. In winter, its cascades often freeze to form a picturesque icefall.
The waterfall can be admired from the Labsky Dol valley, where the blue tourist trail runs. At the top of the waterfall there is the Ambrozova Vyhlidka viewpoint, from which you can admire the Łabska valley, Goat Ridge, Kotel and Łysa Góra.
