The Vinohrad Theater in Prague is a place associated with the Velvet Revolution. On the night of November 19-20, 1989, the theater actress Vlasta Chramostová was to ask the crowd: "If not now, when? If not us, who? " In front of the building there are sculptures of allegorical figures of courage and truth. Inside is an antique curtain with a nude mural painting.
The construction of the theater began in 1905. Architectural design is carried out by Aloise Čenského, Jan Majer and Josef Vesely. The construction was completed in 1907 and the theater was inaugurated in the same year. In the years 1950 - 1966 he was a theater of the Czechoslovak Army.
The historic curtain is by Vladimír Županský. Allegorical figures on the pylons were carved by Milan Havlíček.
