The largest railway museum in the Czech Republic. The facility was founded in 1999 and is located in the former heating plant of the Bustehrad railway station at the Lužná u Rakovníka railway station. The institution currently has the largest collection of historic rail vehicles in the Czech Republic.
The museum has many steam locomotives, historic passenger and freight wagons, and special wagons. Most vehicle models are displayed in specially prepared showcases. Unusual exhibits include, for example, a refurbished beer car. In the museum you can also visit an exhibition dedicated to, among others, railway safety devices: old telephones, old apparatus as well as lights and lanterns.
Outside there is an oval terrain track with a distance of 800 mm, which has been specially prepared for rides for visitors.
All buildings and exhibits are the property of Czech Railways.
