Cable Car to the top of Ještěd peak

The Ještěd cable car is currently the only gondola lift operating in the Czech Republic. It allows you to quickly get from Liberec to the 1012 m high Ještěd towering above it. The railway is 1183 meters long and overcomes a height difference of 450 meters.

The funicular to Ještěd was built between 1932 and 1933. Renovated several times, it can transport around 500 people an hour today. Her cars take 35 people each. Journey to Ještěd takes between 3 and a half and 5 minutes depending on the conditions. The train is operated by Czech Railways. Its end station is under the relay to Ještěd, which is one of the most characteristic landmarks around Liberec.
