Castle Jindřichův Hradec

Local name: Státní hrad a zámek J. Hradec

The 13th-century castle in Jindřichův Hradec covers an area of about 3 hectares. The Black Tower enjoys great interest of tourists, from which there is a view of the surrounding area. For lovers of fine arts, a unique exhibition 'The Art of Renovation' has been prepared here, including decorative fabrics. Interesting are also portraits of dogs by Peter Berger.

Guests can choose from five routes, during a walk they will see, among others: the interior of the castle with a chapel, the main courtyard, a well with forged grille, the historic carriage and the Black Tower, whose height and circumference are the same and are 32 meters.

Each of the proposed routes shows the castle in a different light. Choosing the "Gothic Palace" route, tourists will visit the Knight's Hall with paintings depicting the legend of St. George and the late Gothic Black Cuisine. The route "Interiors from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries" shows chambers decorated in a classical style.
