Panenkárium

Panenkarium is a doll museum located in Hradec Králové. A collection of dolls from 1880-1809 is presented here, as well as accessories for them, such as prams, furniture, houses, dishes and many more.

The museum was founded by private collectors of dolls and toys. Most of the exhibits here come from reputable German and French companies. There are dolls made of porcelain, celluloid and textiles. Also present are dolls cut out of paper, for which it was possible to make clothes presented by hand using the same technique. The dolls were placed in various interiors, rooms, kitchens and bedrooms. In this way, furniture and other equipment created for furnishing dollhouses are also exposed.

There are also mechanical dolls. Many of them come from the renowned Czech Hamiro toy factory in Pribrama. The collection is supplemented with children's books, furnishings for men and women from the beginning of the 20th century and mechanical toys from the period after World War II.
