Aquarium
Local name: Obří akvárium Hradec Králové
The largest Aquarium in the Czech Republic is located in Hradec Kralove. You can admire tropical fish and aquatic animals. The facility has an underwater tunnel in which visitors have the impression of staying in the middle of a water reservoir. There is also a tropical jungle with orchids, lianas and small animals and insects inhabiting it.
The aquarium was opened in 1998. It measures 5 by 8 meters and holds 130,000 liters of water. The aquarium shows life in the warm waters of Central and South America. It is divided into salt and freshwater. Above it is the reconstructed equatorial jungle ecosystem. Humidity in the room reaches 90%, which in combination with high temperature allows you to realize what conditions prevail in the tropical zone.
The aquarium has more than 500 fish and other aquatic animals belonging to 40 species. The tour ends with a screening of a film about life in tropical waters. The property also has a café.
