Horovice Castle is a Baroque building with neoclassical elements. It stands in a picturesque park and its interiors are open to visitors. On the first floor you can admire the rooms furnished with period furniture. On the ground floor there is an exhibition of toys, music boxes and other playing equipment present in the life of the then aristocracy.
The castle was built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries on the site of a Gothic watchtower. It was successively expanded until the mid-nineteenth century. Initially, it consisted only of today's central part with a tower covered with a baroque helmet. Over time, side wings and a glass porch leading to the courtyard were added to it.
After World War II, the castle was nationalized. For many years it fell into ruin. It wasn't restored to its former glory until the end of the 20th century. Currently, work is still underway in some rooms. The main part of the building is open to visitors. On the ground floor you can move into the world of childhood. Dolls, teddy bears, toy soldiers, musical instruments, music boxes, organisms and other toys were gathered here, which were played by the children of the aristocracy. On the first floor, the appearance of a dozen or so rooms was recreated using furniture and handicrafts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
