The Larnaca City Gallery is a relatively small art gallery that has a collection of Cypriot painting, presented as part of one permanent exhibition. Thematic temporary exhibitions are also organized in the gallery. The gallery has four exhibition halls in which visitors can see, above all, the works of significant Cypriot, but also foreign artists.
The gallery's activity focuses primarily on collecting and presenting contemporary art to visitors. We will see here both painting and sculpture, as well as other works representing all visual arts. The gallery's mission is also to promote local artists.
The seat of the Municipal Gallery of Larnaca is a building built in 1881, located at Europa Square, which is a remnant of the period of British colonialism. This is a very valuable example of colonial architecture in Larnaca.
