The historic mosque is the largest medieval building in the city. It measures 55 m long and 23 m wide. It was built as a Gothic cathedral at the turn of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. At first it was the place of the coronation of the kings of Cyprus. Currently, the mosque can be visited only for a fee.
