The defensive building was erected at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries according to the design of Marina Radoje. Currently, the Kamerlengo Tower is a valued vantage point from which you can see the panorama of the whole of Trogir and the port promenade. Numerous cultural events take place here, in season you can try your hand at archery.
Kamerlengo Fortress is one of the most important monuments of Trogir. The defensive complex consists of three towers, a bastion and a courtyard. Only the walls have survived in good condition - the inner buildings fell into ruin a few centuries ago. In the 15th century, the fortress was part of the city fortifications system that connected it with the tower of St. Mark.
The name Kamerlengo was given from the function of this place - in the fortress there was a apartment of a Venetian official, called Camerling, who was responsible for collecting taxes and duties.
