Galerija Meštrović is the former estate of Ivan Meštrović (1883-1962), a Croatian sculptor and architect. It houses a museum with around 200 sculptures, hundreds of drawings and sketches, about 300 architectural plans, as well as documents and personal items that belonged to Meštrović in the past. In addition, the gallery presents 200 works of other artists.
The permanent exhibition covers two floors of a large building and an adjacent sculpture park. The museum has preserved the natural layout and equipment of the rooms in which thematic exhibitions have been organized, devoted, among others. sculptural images of the Meštrović family and religious works in the artist's work. The facility also has an extensive archive of Meštrović's correspondence, press articles, photographs and films.
The creation of the museum was possible thanks to the donation of Ivan Meštrović, who in 1952 gave the Croatian state all his properties and art collections.
